We love any excuse to try a new chicken recipe, so when our friends over at American Pecans hosted the #NotJustPie contest on Instagram and Twitter, asking fans to break pecans out of the pie shell and show off their best non-pie pecan recipes, we were thrilled to learn that the Pecan-Crusted Nashville Hot Chicken rose to the top. Choosing a winner certainly wasn't easy, but ultimately the judges couldn't pass up Crystal Schlueter's, of @HomeOnTheIronRange, creative spin on a Southern classic! As if Hot Chicken wasn't enough to get us to drop our to-do lists, Crystal serves it with creamy cornbread grits and a collard greens pesto. Intrigued? We don't blame you.
