Meal Plan Oct 1

Meal Plan Oct 1

This month, we welcome back Marta Rivera for more of her meal plans. Marta is a trained chef, mom of twins, and Army wife – and she is also one of our Simply Recipes recipe testers!

How is it already October?!?! I'm still trying to get into the fall groove with our school and work schedules. These days, I just want to enjoy the chilly temps, daydreaming about pumpkin spiced something-or-other, and Oktoberfest (which I celebrate all season long!).

Great produce is still coming into season in October. Keep an eye out in your food markets for corn, broccoli, cabbage, and kale this month!

THIS WEEK: Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff, Texas Stacked Enchiladas, Updated Mushroom Barley Soup and more!

Our 12 Favorite Cookie Recipes to Make in the Fall

Our 12 Favorite Cookie Recipes to Make in the Fall

You know it's fall when suddenly the baking aisle in the grocery store becomes a lot more crowded. Ingredients such as fancy chocolate chips and pumpkin spice everything start making an appearance.

When it's quiet for just a moment, you can almost hear the whir of the stand mixer calling to you. (Ok, maybe that's just me.)

And while we may all have our go-to cookie recipe, the need for new inspiration never wanes. From Brown Butter Chocolate Chunk Cookies and Snickerdoodles, to Cinnamon Snaps and S’mores Cookies, we've gathered up some of our favorites for you to try this fall. Let’s get baking!

Happy Fall! Who's Ready for Cider Pulled Pork?

Latest recipes from Simply Recipes.

Hi, everybody!

It's definitely starting to feel like sweater weather here in Northern California, and I for one am LOVING IT! If you follow us on Instagram, you probably saw that I made a big batch of Cider Pulled Pork this week. It's so good -- great for a party, but also nice for small families (like mine!) since you can use the pork all sorts of ways during the week and freeze the leftover. I used it to make a quick pasta with red peppers, BBQ pulled pork pizza, and an easy breakfast-for-dinner egg scramble.

And hey, are you feeling stressed with your back-to-school schedule? If so, I highly recommend our recipe for Rotisserie Chicken Stroganoff. Pick up a roast chicken at the grocery store on the way home, and dinner is ready in minutes. (P.S. Pressure Cooker Egg Bites are a GREAT make-ahead breakfast!)

Happy cooking!

Meal Plan for September Week 4

Meal Plan for September Week 4

This month, please welcome Aaron Hutcherson and his September meal plans! Aaron is a regular contributor here on Simply Recipes and the blogger behind The Hungry Hutch.

And just like that, the season has changed and we’re fully into autumn.

As such, this week’s plan is full of a lot of flavors and foods that you know and love, with a few twists thrown in to shake things up a bit. That means everything from pasta with a quick and simple tomato sauce to vegan barbecue tacos (yes, you read that last part correctly).

And for anyone that’s been craving something sweet, there’s a s’mores pie recipe. Nothing screams fall to me more than the combination of graham crackers, chocolate, and marshmallows, and this version is sure to satisfy.

THIS WEEK: Skillet Pork Chops with Cabbage, “Kale”sadilla, BBQ Pulled Jackfruit Tacos and more!
